A letter from Sed

As a teenager, I dreamed of ultimate freedom. Not conforming to norms, rebelling, finding my own path. Or at least pretending to have one. I fulfilled this dream with music that broadened my horizons, with cinema, and with short trips. And the visual was always present in my subconscious: photography, art, fashion. Not as a calling, but rather as a quiet restlessness that never completely disappeared.

In California, I first became aware of how strongly different cultures influence each other. And that you can reinvent yourself at any time. Not because you have to, but because you can. Imagine going to a new place and being allowed to completely rewrite your story. Without footnotes, without explanations. That's what I've always tried to do, at least. Sometimes better, sometimes less so.

Even now, with Sed & Zia. A journey shaped by so many influences. By the urge to create something new, to let go of the old, to venture into completely unknown territory. I didn't study fashion, nor were the Japanese streetwear legends my idols. But all these worlds have left their mark, right up to the present day. Not as a master plan, more like a mosaic that eventually formed a picture.

Sed & Zia represents a journey. Not a straight line, but rather a path to one's own identity. To self-reflection. To shedding thought patterns that one has adopted at some point without questioning whether they still belong to oneself.

This project has already allowed me to meet people who have enriched and inspired me immensely. I hope that Sed & Zia can pass on this inspiration, even if only in a small way.

Sed & Zia are symbolic of a couple. Whether friends or lovers, two people who share: moments, experiences, silence. Because if you can't share the most beautiful moments, they often don't seem real. And it's just half as much fun.

If you've made it this far, read these lines, and viewed this first collection, then I've already achieved far more than I could ever have dreamed of. Thank you for your interest. Thank you for your time. And now it's up to you to continue your journey. Or to begin it.
